Electronic signatures in France
The Civil Code recognizes an electronic signature when it identifies the signer and shows their consent. A qualified signature benefits from a legal presumption.
The framework
Articles 1366 and 1367 of the Civil Code are the contract rules customers cite, on top of eIDAS. A reliable identification process matters when the signature is challenged.
The standard inSigner signature ships with a completion record. A qualified signature is available as an Enterprise option.
Evidence
A standard inSigner signature is an electronic signature with a completion record. It is not a qualified electronic signature. QES and the AATL check are Enterprise options.
The record connects the document hash, the people invited, and the completion events. It does not replace a notarization, a wet-ink statute, or advice from your counsel.
