Electronic signatures in Australia
The Electronic Transactions Act 1999, and the state and territory Acts, allow many documents to be signed electronically when the method identifies the signer and indicates their intention.
The framework
Commonwealth, state, and territory laws sit side by side. Deeds, witnessing, and some company documents can have extra rules.
inSigner records consent and completion. Your counsel decides whether that method is enough for the document.
What the record shows
A standard inSigner signature is an electronic signature with a completion record. It is not a qualified electronic signature. QES and the AATL check are Enterprise options.
The record connects the document hash, the people invited, and the completion events. It does not replace a notarization, a wet-ink statute, or advice from your counsel.
